In the first half of 2018, import and export value of Xinjiang Autonomous Region amounted to 56.415 billion yuan , a fall of 9.5% year on year. Export value was 45.326 billion yuan, down 15.4% year on year and import value was 11.09 billion yuan, an increase of 26.8%. Exports of textile and garments decreased, while imports of cotton moved up. Textiles exports reached 3.169 billion yuan, down 21.9% year on year; garments exports were 10.258 billion yuan, a fall of 15% year on year; cotton imports were 0.825 billion yuan, up 16.4% year on year.
